Inmarsat 4F3 Frequency Plan Maintenance

We would like to advise you of the forthcoming maintenance in AMER and AORW region. This is an essential planned satellite reconfiguration to accommodate new operational requirements over the Inmarsat 4F3 coverage. During the maintenance period services in AMER and AORW will be not available for a period up to 60 minutes, where possible services will be recovered in the overlapping regions (APAC-POR-AORE-EMEA-IOR).

The details and timeline of the changes are reported below:

Single or multiple Outage & Duration Single outage of up to 60 minutes
Outage impact Terminals will lose lock and drop out of the network, and will attempt to re-acquire onto an overlapping region. If no overlapping region is available or the satellite is in blockage, the terminal will re-acquire into the network on the original region once it becomes available

Actions needed by user Re-start the terminal if it does not re-join the network after 15 minutes

  • Americas I-4 = Satelite responsible for the region of North- and Southamerica
  • APAC = Asia Pacific
  • BGAN = Broadband Global Area Nework. Inmarsat service for BGAN devices
  • CDR = Call Detail Record
  • EMEA = Satellite responsible for the region of European Middle East Africa
  • FB or FBB = FleetBroadBand. Inmarsat service for FBB devices
  • GSPS = Global Satellite Phone Service. Inmarsat voice service for IsatPhone
  • IRIS = Remote monitoring and control system
  • SB or SBB = SwiftBroadBand. Inmarsat service for SBB devices
